Siouxland kid raises "buckets of hope" for other cancer survivors

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Friday, people gathered at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center to raise awareness for Blood Cancer.

This was done by organizing blood drives as well as raising funds for Buckets of Hope.

Buckets for Hope was an idea by Toby Ball and her five year old daughter Jacey Jo.

Jacey Jo was diagnosed with cancer more than a year ago.

She is now in remission and has one year of chemotherapy down.

"I really love the amount of people who have jumped just immediately on the bandwagon and have given completely from their heart and without even being asked," said Toby Ball, Mother.

The Buckets of Hope are aimed at giving some hope to those who have a long road ahead of them.

These buckets are for those driving to and from treatment.

They include a gas card, water, and tote from Iz-Bee Jammies.

The buckets will be donated to the cancer center and both Sioux City hospitals.
