Mobile home red-tagged after a fire causes extensive damage

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - A fire tore through a trailer home in Sioux City Monday morning.  The fire was reported just after eight at the Tallview Terrace mobile home park.

One man, who called 911, says he was working at a nearby trailer when he noticed flames coming from the roof of the home 3290 North Martha Street Lot 54.  He says he ran to the trailer's front door, but it was too hot, so he went to the back to wake up the residents.  He says a little girl answered the door and woke up her mom.  They both made it out ok.

Firefighters put out hotspots in the roof of the trailer and underneath it.

The fire caused extensive damage, and officials have red-tagged the trailer.

No injuries were reported, and the cause is still under investigation.
