WAYNE, Neb. (KTIV) -
Eric Browning of Wayne State College is the Northern Sun Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, following his no-hitter over the weekend at Minnesota-Crookston.  It’s the second time this season that Browning has received NSIC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors.

Browning, a 6'1", 190-pound sophomore right-hander from Lyons, Nebraska (Bancroft-Rosalie HS), fired a no-hitter last Friday with 13 strikeouts and three walks on just 91 pitches in a 4-0 win over the Golden Eagles.  It was the sixth no-hitter in school history and third for the Wildcat baseball program since the 2009 season.  Browning is now 5-3 on the season in eight starts with a 2.58 ERA.  He has two complete games, two shutouts and has recorded 60 strikeouts in just 45.1 innings pitched this season, ranking third in the league in strikeouts.

Wayne State, 20-17 overall and 13-10 in the NSIC, hosts Augustana College in NSIC doubleheaders Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at noon at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex in Wayne.
