GRUNDY COUNTY (KWWL) -
A New Hartford man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night north of Morrison.
Robert Adams, 78, of New Hartford, was pronounced dead at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Tuesday night, according to the Grundy County Sheriff's Office.
A passenger in Adams' vehicle -- Janet Adams, 66, also of New Hartford -- was also taken to Grundy County Memorial Hospital and transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City, according to officials. Her condition is unknown.
Robert Adams was allegedly northbound on S Avenue about two miles north of Morrison when he rear-ended a John Deere 4960 tractor pulling a field cultivator. The tractor was driven by Michael Freed, 63, of Grundy Center.
Freed declined medical treatment.
Adams' 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe was totaled, according to officials. The field cultivator sustained $10,000 in damage.
The crash remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office.
Assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Reinbeck Fire and Ambulance and Air Care Helicopter.
