The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra unveils its fall concerts

The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 99th year this fall with a seven concert season running from September through April of 2015.

The season starts off with an opening night performance by world-famous violinist Jennifer Koh. In October, the symphony is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the film "The Wizard of Oz" and with this concert comes a new twist.

"The huge movie screen will be lowered and you'll actually watch the original film 'The Wizard of Oz' with one small change. And that is the orchestra from the movie will be removed from the film and that's where we come in to play," said Ryan Haskins, music director and conductor for the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.

On Valentine's Day, special guest Ashley Brown, who's best known on Broadway for her title role of Mary Poppins, will accompany the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra on stage for a performance entitled "A Broadway Romance."
