SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The owner of Sioux City's Argosy Casino wants the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission to reconsider its decision to close the riverboat casino by July 1st.

Lawyers for Belle of Sioux City, which is a subsidiary of Penn National Gaming, claims the IRGC's decision to refuse an extension of the Argosy's gaming license, and close the casino, is "a complete and utter sham."

Those lawyers have asked for a rehearing, or an "expansion" of the administrative record. An IRGC spokesman says the commission has received the application for a rehearing. But, there's no timetable for a decision.
