SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - All of this severe wind could be costing you a surprise visit to the auto body shop.
Sioux Body Shop in Sioux City said often times after windy days, folks will come in with car damages from door dings to doors blown right off of their hinges.
Some of their damages also come from blowing debris and falling tree branches.
Auto body repairmen say the most common problems happen when the wind takes control of the car door.
"People just need to make sure that they're holding their inside door handles tight, because the wind is going to catch it and throw the door open. Hold the door tight and try to keep it as closed as possible while you're getting out of the car so the wind can't catch it," Costa Tsiobanos, Sioux Body Shop manager said.
If you happened to get some wind damage to your car, Sioux Body Shop says you can stop at their shop on West eighth without an appointment to get an estimate.
