Sioux Center Christian breaks ground on school expansion

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) - Ground has been broken on the expansion of Sioux Center Christian School.

The plan has been in the works for a few years.

This is the largest add-on to the school. "It was really fun because we had kids from all different churches and stuff helping out,"  said Kaycee Kooima, Student.

The project is estimated at nearly $6.5-million and it will add on 32,000 square feet to the building. The addition will include ten classrooms, administrative offices, and music rooms. "We are just very thankful to be at this point today and we are thankful for all of the contributions.  We just hope and pray that we can continue to provide a strong and christian education here in Sioux Center, Iowa," said Harlan De Vries, Principal.

The addition to the school is expected to be completed by the fall of 2015.
