UPDATE: Authorities say wind and alcohol may have been factors in motorcycle accident

NEAR HINTON, Iowa (KTIV) Authorities say wind and alcohol may have been factors in a motorcycle accident over the weekend.

It happened on south of Hinton on Highway 75, around 4:30 pm on Saturday.

A witness told authorities the motorcyclist went onto the shoulder of the highway and lost control of the bike, crashing in the median.

The driver is now identified as 45 year-old Mark MacFarlane of Jefferson, South Dakota.  He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Authorities say MacFarlane has a fractured neck, and was in serious condition at the hospital.
