Sioux City man enters not guilty plea to robbery charges


SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) A Sioux City man has pleaded not guilty after police say he robbed three people.

22 year-old Vasean Markworth is charged with two counts of robbery, and one count of false imprisonment. 

Authorities say the first incident happened March 30th.  They say Markworth threatened two teenage boys, taking money and other belongings.

A few weeks later, police say Markworth attacked a woman who was locking up her business.  He demanded cash and her debit card.  Police say he forced the woman into her car and drove her to a bank.  It was there, police say, the woman was able to escape.

A trial date has been set for June.
