Pierce, Neb. man back in court on murder charges

Daniel Hofmann, 23 Daniel Hofmann, 23
PIERCE, NE (KTIV/US92) - A Siouxland man accused in a three-year-old manslaughter case will be back in court Wednesday.

Daniel Hofmann, 23, will be arraigned on four felony counts Wednesday related to a 2011 shooting death in Pierce County.

Hofmann was arrested last month, accused of shooting 18-year-old Wesley Kuester while visiting friends in Pierce in April of 2011.  Initially, Kuester's death was determined to be self-inflicted, but prosecutors say subsequent investigation implicated Hofmann in the shooting.

Hoffman's initial court appearance was on April 2, where his arraignment was delayed so he could find an attorney.  Court documents show that he will be represented by the Pierce County public defender.

Hofmann's arraignment is set for 2:45 Wednesday afternoon in Pierce.
