Manslaughter case moved to district court in Pierce County, NE


NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - A Columbus, Nebraska man accused of killing a Norfolk man had his case moved to district court.

Twenty-three year old Daniel Hofmann appeared in Pierce County Court Wednesday afternoon.

He waived his preliminary hearing on four felony charges, including manslaughter and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Hofmann is accused in the 2011 shooting death of 18-year-old Wesley Kuester of Norfolk at an apartment in Pierce.

Member's of Kuester's family, including his mother attended Wednesday's hearing.

Hofmann's attorney indicated in court that he will be pleading not guilty when he's arraigned in Pierce County District Court on May 29, 2014.
