SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Some Eastern Iowa leaders will make a stop in Sioux City next week, to help with developing the downtown area around the new casino.

Dubuque moved its water-based casino to land, and city leaders are looking for their input. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission set a July 1st closing date for Sioux City's Argosy riverboat casino. The Hard Rock is expected to open in late summer.

"We have an opportunity to take what's going on in Sioux City and take some ideas of what others have done. And if we need to copy them and it's accessible then we'll do that. So, we're open to anything and everybody's idea."

City leaders form Dubuque, Iowa will be in town on Wednesday to share ideas from their downtown transformation success.
