Lifeguards needed at Sioux City's pools

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (SUBMITTED) Sioux City Parks & Recreation is looking for American Red Cross certified lifeguards to work at Sioux City pools this summer. You must be at least 16 years of age and anyone that passes this class will be placed at one of the five swimming pools this summer pending approval from Human Resources and a drug test.

You must also be able to swim 300 yards with front crawl & breast stroke, tread water for two minutes, and be able to grab a brick from seven to nine feet of water. The certification is good for 2 years and the pay for a lifeguard begins at $7.61 per hour and the range can go up to $12.40 per hour. 

A lifeguarding class will also be held May 16-18th.  The cost is $40 per person.  It includes certifications in CPR/AED for Professional Rescue, lifeguard certification and a CPR pocket mask.
