Alec Pavone helped Bishop Heelan win the city track title by winning the 3,200 meter run.
SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) -
The state track meets in Iowa and Nebraska are just over two weeks away. Metro athletes got some inter-state competition at the city track meet in South Sioux City.
There were perfect conditions on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River. In the the girls 3000 meter run, South Sioux City's Haley Fritza came through for the Cardinals, claiming victory in 12 minutes and 43 seconds**
In the boys 3,200, Bishop Heelan junior Alec Pavone took first in 10 minutes, 7 seconds.
In the boys High jump, Nate Glisar from Sergeant Bluff-Luton wins by clearning 6-feet even.
In the shot put, West senior Tanya Meyer tossed it 36-feet 3 inches to take second. She was beaten by SBL's Miles Ludwigs who heaved it 36-feet 10 inches to win the event.
The Bishop Heelan boys and girls won the team titles. The Crusader guys scored 139 pionts and the Crusader girls scored 142 points.
