NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -

Nebraska State Senator Pete Pirsch, of Omaha, says reforming the state's prison system should be a top priority for Nebraska's next attorney general.

Pirsch, who's one on four Republicans in the May primary for attorney general, says his experience in the Unicameral makes him the right man for the job. "Nobody is better situated as this group gets to work to fashion a responsible appropriate reaction to our prison overcrowding," said Pirsch. "Making sure that as a bedrock principle, we are not realizing violent criminals back into society."
