Farm safety lesson for students in Clay County, Iowa

Posted:

SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV/SMU) - Students in Clay County, Iowa got a fun lesson in farm safety on Wednesday.

Fourth Graders from all over the county traveled to the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer for a hands on experience.

The fun-filled event focused on safety around farm machinery and animals, but also talked about topics like chemical, fire and seatbelt safety.

Organizers say students might not live on a farm, but they'll probably have friends that do or visit one at some time so it's good for them to be aware of their surroundings.
