Man sentenced to 15 years behind bars for stabbing Sioux City convenience store employee


SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) A judge has sentenced a Sioux City man to 15-years behind bars for stabbing a local grocery employee during a robbery.

Corderro Simpson pleaded guilty to robbery and assault while participating in a felony. 

In February, police say Simpson stabbed a worker, who confronted him for trying to shoplift some beer at the Save-A-Lot store at 17th and Pierce Streets.

The worker suffered minor injuries.

Another person, Bobbi Medina, also faces a charge of robbery in the incident.  A trial date has been set for May 13th.
