Siouxland airports to receive funding for upgrades

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTIV) -
Two northwest Iowa airports are among a dozen in the state awarded federal funding.

The Northwest Iowa Regional Airport in Spencer was awarded almost $240,000 for the rehabilitation of a taxiway lighting system.
 
The Cherokee Regional Airport will receive $72,000 to extend a runway. 

Iowa airports received 2.5 million dollars in funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation this round.
