Some Siouxlanders are picking up pieces and assessing damage after stormy weather


HOSPERS, Iowa (KTIV) - Hardest hit in Siouxland, this dairy farm six miles northwest of Hospers, Iowa.

As you can see, it was heavily damaged by a tornado that struck just after 8:30 Sunday night.

The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says about 500 cattle were set loose after the storm hit the dairy farm on Kingbird Avenue.

Other farm residences in the surrounding area sustained minor damage.

The good news is there are no reports of any injuries.

The National Weather Service also reports a tornado on the ground in Union County, South Dakota, northwest of Akron, Iowa.

There are no reports of damage from that one.
