Law enforcement gathers with community to honor fallen officers

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Law enforcement officers from the Sioux City Police Department and Woodbury County Sheriff's Department gathered Monday to honor those officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect the community.

Officers spoke about the sacrifices they and their families make every day to protect the community.

The names of every officer lost in the line of duty were read, and the sacrifice they and their families made were acknowledged.

The family of James Brodie, the Woodbury County Attorney who died in a plane crash in 1959 was in attendance, because his name is finally being added to the officer memorial after 55 years of effort by his sister.
