Spencer, Iowa man sentenced to more than a year after escaping federal custody

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) A Spencer, Iowa man is sentenced to more than a year behind bars after he left a federal half way house back in January.

22 year-old Jose Osoria-Mendez pleaded guilty to leaving the Fort Dodge facility on a work pass on January 3rd.  He was found in Minnesota two days later.

He was serving the remainder of his jail sentence at the work facility after being convicted on charges that include armed bank robbery.
