Vietnam War veterans reunite in Siouxland

Vietnam War Veterans with ties to the 185th Air Refueling Wing came back to Siouxland to honor one of their own.

Former F-100 pilots, who spent a year defending our freedom, started their trip down memory lane at the Siouxland Freedom Park in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

It was there, they got the chance to see Warren Brown's name etched in stone.

Brown was killed in action back in 1968.

"We're kind of here to commemorate our buddy we lost over there, Warren Brown, and he's on the wall over here," Vietnam War Veteran Dudley Smidt said.

It's been 45 years since these men have all been together and some of the veterans said it's an overwhelming experience to be back with them again.

"Seeing these guys, it's like you saw them a month ago. It's total no strangers. It's very exciting and very emotional," Vietnam War Veteran John Haley said

"It's tremendous to get together again, probably for one last time, and celebrate looking back at that year we spent together," Smidt said.

After their time visiting the wall, the former pilots got back on the bus and headed out to tour the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City.
