One Siouxland school celebrated the end of the school year

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Despite the chilly temperature Thursday morning, students at one Siouxland school celebrated the end of the school year.

Sioux City schools will dismiss for the summer next Friday.

Riverside Elementary Students were outside today having their annual field day.

The students participated in various activities such as a sack race and a golf ball spoon relay to name a few.

"We just exercise all around the field and do different activities. We are having so much fun," said Faith Taylor, student.

"My favorite part is the hoola-hoop game," said Janae Johnson, student.

This is the 12th year for this field day event which promotes fun a physical activity for the students.
