A northwest Iowa farmer is killed while loading a bull into a trailer

MAPLETON, Iowa (KTIV) - Authorities identify a northwest Iowa farmer who was killed while loading a bull into a trailer Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say 66-year-old Ronald Rude of rural Mapleton, dropped off a bull at the Mapleton Vet Clinic for treatment.

While Rude was reloading the bull, they say the animal trampled him in the pen.

The vet found Rude on the ground, and ran into the clinic to call for help.

But, authorities say Rude died at the scene.

An autopsy is being conducted.
