UPDATE: Carroll, Iowa Police arrest suspect from early morning scare

CARROLL, Iowa (KTIV) - Police in Carroll, Iowa have arrested a man in connection with an alleged stabbing.

Carroll Police say they have arrested 27-year-old Mark Lee as a suspect in the case that had area schools lockdown Friday.

Police say it happened around 7 a.m. Friday morning when they were called to the 1308 North Main Street..

A neighbor reported a woman was pounding on a door with possible stab wounds.

Police say the hurt woman was taken to a local hospital and then was flown to Des Moines, Iowa because of her injuries.

Chief Cayler said he notified the Carroll Community Schools of the incident.

Carroll Community Schools Superintendent Rob Cordes said all of the school buildings were placed on lockdown immediately and parents were notified by a voicemail of the incident.

They were dismissed as regular this afternoon.

CARROLL, Iowa (KTIV) - Carroll, Iowa Police are searching for a man after he allegedly stabbed a woman at 1308 North Main Street.

Police Chief Jeff Cayler said around 7 a.m., a neighbor called 911, reporting a woman was pounding on her door with possible stab wounds.

Authorities responded to the scene and transported the woman to a hospital in Carroll.

The extent of her injuries required her to be flown to a Des Moines hospital.

Chief Cayler said he notified the Carroll Community Schools of the incident.

Carroll Community Schools Superintendent Rob Cordes said all of the school buildings were placed on lockdown immediately and parents were notified by a voicemail of the incident.

Cordes said they will dismiss school as normal.

Chief Cayler said they are still investigating but they are searching for 27-year-old Mark Lee.

Lee is a black man who is 5'7" and weighs 140 pounds with short black hair.
