Some might have to replant after cold morning temperatures

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - It was a cold morning and some spots in Siouxland even broke records.

Many are concerned that the chilly weather could kill their plants.

The safe date for planting is May 15th but, that doesn't always hold true with mother nature.

All of Siouxland was under a Freeze Warning or Frost Advisory early this morning.

Because of the harsh conditions, some might have to replant their gardens.

"Pretty much the best response is no response or at least a delayed response because things could happen in the next two or three days," said Rex Towns, Master Gardener.

Towns says the plants most at risk are annuals.

The perennials are a little bit hardier and they may come back.
