ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Dutch heritage came alive for many at the Tulip Festival on Saturday.

Iowa's Governor Terry Branstad made a special appearance during the parade.

He said the festival is a great way to draw tourism to Iowa.

"It's a great community. They've done a great job preserving their heritage, and the people get really actively involved, and wear the Dutch costumes, and enjoy the festivities," Branstad said.

Branstad added that when people come to Orange City, they're able to see the friendliness and hospitality demonstrated by Iowans.
