Supervisors want to expand Liberty Industrial Park for "capital reinvestment" along I-29

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV)- A different kind of project is being considered in Woodbury County, Iowa.

For years, the county has been looking at building an industrial area, called Liberty Park, near Salix. Now, those plans are changing. County leaders now want to expand the area as part of a "capital reinvestment program along the Interstate 29 corridor."

It's all part of an effort by leaders to create a "mega" site near CF Industries. "We are looking at the entire complex down there as far as industrial development is concerned," said George Boykin, Woodbury County Board Chairman.

Boykin says he expects the county, along with the engineering firm working on the study, to have a better sense of what the exact next step is for this project within the next 5 to 6 months.
