Sioux City man sentenced for selling ecstasy

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - A Sioux City man has been sentenced for dealing ecstasy and driving while under the influence.

Authorities say 27-year-old Ricardo Daniel Carranza sold ecstasy during two controlled buys in December in Orange City, Iowa.

He was busted after trying to sell marijuana during another controlled buy in March.

After his arrest, Carranza admitted he smoked pot earlier in the day.

So, he was also charged with 2nd offense OWI.

Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle says during Monday's sentencing Carranza received up to ten years for the two delivery charges and two years for second offense OWI for a total of 22 years.

However, he will serve the sentences at the same time.
