Norfolk, Nebraska Police are continuing to investigate an overnight shooting

NORFOLK, Neb. (US92/KTIV)  - Norfolk, Nebraska Police are continuing to investigate an overnight shooting.

Police said officers were called to the area of 10th and Michigan Avenue just before midnight Tuesday.

Witnesses said that they heard gunshots and saw two males running and one vehicle leaving the area.

A Madison County Deputy located a male subject in the 1000 block of Omaha Ave, who claimed that he was walking with a friend near 10th and Michigan when he was shot.

They then ran from the scene after the shooting.

The victim was subsequently arrested on unrelated charges.

Police said a lead on the identity of the male shooting suspect has been established but no arrests have been reported.

The incident is still under active investigation.
