Senior golfers support local charities

DAKOTA DUNES, SD (KTIV) - Golfers hit the green Wednesday to support local charities.

The 22nd annual Siouxland Senior Open took place Wednesday at Two Rivers Golf Course in Dakota Dunes.

More than one-hundred golfers 50 years or older gathered to help raise money for The First Tee and Sunrise Retirement Community.

This event has raised nearly $400,000 dollars for Siouxland organizations in its 22 years.

"It's very heartwarming to see all of these gentleman, it's a gentleman's sport, come out and support the senior cause." said Lorrie Stedman, Tournament Coordinator

The golfers are competing for the coveted Gunderson's Cup and Dale Mogren Memorial Plaque.
