Judge sides with Siouxland Christian college over contraceptives

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - A judge has sided with two Christian colleges including one in northwest Iowa over insuring for certain contraceptives.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa and Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan argued a federal mandate violates their religious freedoms.

The federal judge granted a temporary injunction stopping the requirement.

The Justice Department say the lawsuit is merit less and an attempt to prevent female employees from obtaining coverage.
