UPDATE: Driver's name released after one-vehicle accident along I-29 Thursday night

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) The crash of a sport utility vehicle on I-29 sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries overnight.

It happened in the northbound lanes on the Hamilton Boulevard overpass.

Police were called to the scene about 11:30 p.m.

They found the male driver inside the vehicle, unconscious but breathing.

Police say 42-year-old Monty Hogan from Sioux City was taken to Mercy Trauma Care with head injuries.

They say it appears the Chevy Blazer had gone off the roadway to the right, struck a metal guardrail, then shot across both lanes and struck the concrete median on the other side.

The investigation into the crash continues.
