Amarillo rallies past X's, takes series with 6-4 win

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Cory Patton launched a three-run home run in the top of the 7th inning, rallying Merrill to a 6-4 win over Sioux City Sunday
night at Lewis and Clark Park.

The Explorers fall to 3-8 in the American Association.

Sioux city started the afternoon strong, taking their first lead of the series with an RBI double by Michael Lang in the bottom of the first inning.

The Sox answered right back in the top of the second, tying the game at one with an RBI single to left by Kevin Majoney.

Not be outdone, the X's reclaimed the lead in the home half of the frame on fielder's choice from Mark Sobolewski, which allowed Nate Samson to score.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the 6th, Sioux City got back on the board on back-to-back solo home runs from Luke Murton and Dillon Usiak.

Greg Holt (0-3) took the loss for the X's.

Sioux City hits the road and travels to Winnipeg and Fargo-Moorhead before retuning home to battle Gary (June 2).
