STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) -
One man went to the hospital, another went to jail after a stabbing Sunday night in Storm Lake. Police say it started as an argument over loud music.
39-year old Jose Sevilla-Perez of Storm Lake faces five charges, including felony counts of Going Armed With Intent, Willful Injury and Assault While Participating in a Felony Causing Injury.
Police say Sevilla-Perez stabbed a 29-year old man in the shoulder, hand and abdomen. That victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance. His condition is not known.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Street.
Sevilla-Perez was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on $25,600 bond.
Police cordoned off a block long area, searched the area for evidence and further conducted a consent search of a residence at 420 Russell Street in connection with the investigation. At 3:30am, Monday morning, Storm Lake Police executed a search warrant at a residence located at 500 Russell Street which was part of the crime scene. Police located and secured evidence at both locations.
Police are reporting a stabbing in Storm Lake late Sunday night.
While Storm Lake Police aren't releasing many details, they do confirm one man was stabbed. Paramedics took the victim to the hospital where he underwent surgery.
Police say they have one suspect in custody and are not looking for anyone else.
They said the stabbing happened near 4th and Russell streets. Police plan to release more information Monday morning.
