X's snap skid, hold off Goldeyes 6-5

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Sioux City jumped on former Explores pitcher Jason Jarvis to end a three-game losing streak with a 6-5 victory Monday over Winnipeg.

The X's opened the scoring in the first with an RBI single from Nate Samson, a former Goldeye, in the top of the first.

Sioux City added runs in the second inning with RBIs from Andres Peres and Tommy Mendonca to open up a 3-0 lead.

Clinging to a 6-4 lead heading into the bottom of the 9th, with two outs Ryan Pineda pulled the Goldeyes within a run with an RBI fielders choice.

Sioux City closer Chris Bodishbaugh then retired Luis Allen to end the game.
