Three players leaving Hawkeye football team

Iowa wide receiver Blake Haluska will miss his senior season because of a shoulder injury. Iowa wide receiver Blake Haluska will miss his senior season because of a shoulder injury.
University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz announced Wednesday that senior Blake Haluska, sophomore Barkley Hill and redshirt freshman A.J. Jones will not play football for the Hawkeyes this fall.
Haluska, a wide receiver from Carroll, Iowa, will miss his final season due to a shoulder injury.  He has been a member of the program since joining the team as a walk-on in 2010 and is expected to earn his UI degree this summer.  Haluska saw action in three games in 2013, but had no statistics.
“Blake’s injury will keep him from participating this fall,” said Ferentz.  “Barkley and A.J. have elected to continue their careers elsewhere.  We wish each of the three the best of luck moving forwards with their careers.”
Hill, a running back from Denver, Iowa, did not see action as a redshirt freshman in 2013.  He redshirted in 2012 after suffering a knee injury during the preseason. The website "Hawkeye Insider" says Hill will transfer to Northern Iowa, where he will be eligible immediately.
Jones, a wide receiver from Dallas, Texas, redshirted in 2013 in his first year in the Iowa program.
