Sioux City Hotel is in the Sheriff's Sale

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Earlier this year it looked as if the Sioux City Hotel would bring new life to the downtown area but that deal fell through.

Now, the Sioux City Hotel is listed in the Sheriff's Sale which is slated for July 15.

The city tried to help with renovations but pulled out on the deal because the developer was unable to secure an upscale brand-name partner for the hotel.

The hotel sale is due to the foreclosure by the courts because Choa Hope hasn't paid dues to their mortgage holder First Bank and Trust Company of Illinois.

Sale documents say the outstanding debt on the building is nearly 4-million dollars.
