German wind company makes U.S. home in Siouxland

Estherville, Iowa (KTIV/KUUO) - A German wind company is making its home in Estherville, Iowa.

Windtest North America is making Estherville its new American headquarters, but has been doing business in America for nine years.

CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation Kathy Evert says there are many reasons they chose here.

She says the area is a good source of skilled workers and has room for development.

"I think when all projects are up and running there should be about 10 or more people employed. They'll all be engineering, technicians, maintenance personnel, so they're all highly skilled, great paying positions," said Evert.

Evert thanks Iowa Lakes Community College for helping attract the company.
