Legendary Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne was the keynote speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet Friday.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Friday, a man who led a major college football team and served in Congress was in Sioux City.
Tom Osborne served as the keynote speaker for this year's Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet.
Osborne won three national titles in 25 seasons with the Huskers.
He also served as the athletic director for Nebraska after his coaching days and serving three terms in Congress.
Osborne says he has many great memories as a head coach, but the wins and losses only mean so much to him now.
"The most important thing has been the relationships," said Osborne. "I've had some long-term relationships with former players and former coaches that have been very important to me. So that's probably where I get the greatest satisfaction as this stage in my life."
Osborne spoke to the crowd at the River's Bend Conference Center about his faith and the importance of Fellowship of Christian Athletes in his life.
