Golfers take to the green for Dakota County's K-9 unit

One Nebraska community came together Saturday to raise money to support their county's law enforcement and have a little fun on the golf course.

More than 100 golfers took to the green for the 10th annual Dakota County Sheriff's Department K-9 Golf Tournament.

The entry fee cost $50 per person and all of the money raised went toward the county's K-9 foundation.

"It's such an effective tool in law enforcement. They aid the various street level officers so much with their abilities," Lt. Brian Ellinger, with the Dakota Co. Sheriff's Dept., said.

One of the golfers even donated a dog house to the department.

Saturday's event was expected to raise about $7,000.
