A line of storms leaves damage in its wake throughout Siouxland

Powerful storms packing strong winds left behind damage in all three Siouxland states. In Pierce County, Nebraska authorities said a gustnado blew through. It tore down tree limbs and damaged a farmstead north of Pierce. They believe it continued on to Randolph, Nebraska where it knocked down power lines and trees. Winds picked up a camper at the Blue Ox Campground in Pender, Nebraska blowing it 30 to 40 feet.

Rock Valley, IA prepares for kicking off the 2014 RAGBRAI route

Communities that are hosting RAGBRAI this summer are getting ready for thousands of bikers. Rock Valley, Iowa is one of a few communities on the RAGBRAI route this year that have never hosted the race before. The Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa starts in Rock Valley on Sunday, July 20. City leaders said everything is coming together and people are getting excited. The ride ends in Guttenberg, Iowa on July 26.

RAGBRAI officials kick off the 'test ride' across Iowa

An advance team of cyclists is riding the route this week to check for any hazards or dangerous road conditions. They rolled out of Rock Valley on Sunday and will pedal the entire seven-day route to Gutenberg on the Mississippi River. Organizers said the riders will look at the roads and traffic patterns and do what they can to make RAGBRAI safer. They'll also be meeting with county engineers and law enforcement officials along the way.

Downtown Sioux City hosts annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Siouxlanders made tracks for downtown Sioux City this weekend to walk and run for the fight against breast cancer. Folks dressed up in pink to take part in the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation's annual Race for the Cure. Organizers said everybody knows somebody who is battling breast cancer or who has survived it, and events like this bring the community together in an empowering way.
