FIRE CAUSE: Landmark 'castle' on Sioux City's north side fire is undetermined

Sioux City Fire/Rescue Fire Marshal, Mark Aesoph said the exact cause of the fire that occurred at 3726 Summit Street on April 5 is undetermined.

Aesoph said the building, known as the former Normandy Restaurant, sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.

He said the fire started in the second floor mechanical room.

Another investigation was performed by an independent fire in investigation on behalf of the insured parties.

Aesoph said the building is still red tagged.
