Downtown Sioux City sculptures auctioned off

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Chances are you've seen some of the sculptures that line downtown Sioux City's streets. Thursday night, art lovers got the chance to take a few home.

"Sculpt Siouxland" is in their 9th year of auctioning off Sioux City's sculptures.

The pieces came in a variety of sizes. Some can fit in a corner of your favorite room. Others need a outdoor space, which allows the public to enjoy your purchase.

"Public art makes art accessible to everybody. You don't have to walk into a gallery that you might not feel comfortable in. Not everybody gets the chance to walk into a museum or find the time, but you see these driving down the street," said Donna Behrens, Sculpt Siouxland.

All the sculptures were made by artists from the Midwest.
