SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The first place Gary-Southshore Railcats completed a four game sweep of the Sioux City Explorers, winning 6-5 in ten innings on Thursday at Lewis and Clark Park. Drew Martinez singled in the go-ahead run with a single. The X's are 2-10 at home this season.
The Railcats (12-8) scored two in the top of the first but the X's cut the lead in half on a sacrifice fly by Andres Perez in the bottom of the first to make it 2-1.
Sioux City (6-16) gave up three more runs in the second for a 5-1 Gary lead. But again Sioux City answered with a sacrifice fly from Rene Tosoni to cut the lead to 5-2.
Michael Lang had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 5-3 game. Sioux City then tied the game with a pair of runs in the seventh. Tosoni and Nate Samson had back to back RBI doubles to make it 5-5.
The X's will start a three game weekend series in St. Paul on Friday.
