Sioux City tied a Tier-1 record with 38 wins last season.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A month after their season came to an end in the Western Conference Finals of the Clark Cup Playoffs, Musketeers Head Coach Jay Varady and the staff are back on the ice and building for the future with training camp.
Over the first four days of action Varady will get a look at futures players, skaters born in 1999 that will be eligible for the Phase 1 draft next season, along with goaltenders.
Beginning Thursday, the Muskies main camp begins and features this year's draft picks and affiliate players.
Heading into his second season Varady says the goal remains the same in camp: continue to build upon the culture that allowed the team to tie a franchise Tier 1 record with 38-wins.
"I thought we had a great group last year, a group that bought in from the beginning understood what we were trying to accomplish and went to work," Varady said. "For us now, it's our older players have to help our younger players adjust to that type of culture and the adjustment to the USHL."
Training camp concludes on Sunday, June 15.
