UPDATE: Identity released in deadly train collision in Dakota City, NE

Update 6 p.m. - June 12, 2014

Investigators have identified the victim of Tuesday night's collision of a freight train and a semi south of Dakota City, Nebraska.

The Dakota County Sheriff says 75-year-old James R. Hubbard, of Dakota City, died when his semi was struck by a freight train at about 8:30 Tuesday night.

The accident happened just off Highway 77 on 190th Street.

Investigators say Hubbard was thrown from the vehicle.

Toxicology test results showed no alcohol or any other intoxicating substance.

The investigation continues into the collision of a freight train and a semi south of Dakota City, Nebraska.

The Dakota County Sheriff has confirmed the driver of the semi died before deputies arrived.

It happened about 8:30 Tuesday night just off Highway 77 on 190th Street.

They say the driver of the semi was ejected from his vehicle.

They say a witness reported multiple explosions at the time of the accident.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the identity of the driver.
