Shake up at city hall in Milford, IA

MILFORD, Iowa (KUOO/KTIV) - Milford, Iowa's mayor, and a member of the city council, have resigned.

The move came after a special session of the city council, Wednesday night.

The meeting was called to discuss the future employment of City Administrator Matt Skaret.

During the meeting, several newly-elected council members called for Skaret's dismissal.

They also cited philosophical differences.

Following a lengthy discussion and several failed motions, one was made, seconded and approved to place Skaret on a paid leave of absence while the personnel committee takes up the issue.

The meeting ended with Mayor Don Lamb submitting his resignation, effective at midnight Thursday morning.

Council member Rick Kiltz wil resign his seat in 30 days.
