Boy Scouts help Relay for Life

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - A few Boy Scouts gathered Thursday to put the finishing touches on some games for Fridays Relay for Life.

The Boy Scouts will take part in their first Relay for Life event.

This year's theme is "Carnival of Hope."

A few of the games include a football toss, duck pond, and a ring toss plus there will be prizes.

This event is in efforts to raise money for cancer research.

"It means a lot because it means we can help further research to help save lives and we could help keep people from getting cancer then we could also cure it at the same time. So, no more people could get cancer and die from it," said Jesse Reeg-Beckner, Boy Scout Troop 111.

Relay for Life begins Friday night at 6 but there will be a dinner for the walkers at 5:30.

Carnival tickets are 5 for $1.00.

Everyone is welcome to join in on the festivities at Memorial Field in Sioux City.
